Liebster Blog

What??  It seems a little chain letter-ish, but I am ABSOLUTELY excited that I was nominated to be a Liebster Blog. Fun, fun.  Thank you Tanya Rae for nominating me.

This award is given by bloggers to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It shows appreciation to new bloggers and to helps get the word in the blogosphere, that we DO exist! :)

The Rules:
- You must post 11 random things about yourself.
- Answer the questions that the nominator set for you.
- Create 11 questions for the people you nominate.
- Choose 11 blogs you love (with less than 200 followers) and link them in your post.
- No tag back (but please leave me a comment on this post with the URL to your Liebster post so I can learn more about you)!

11 Randies

I eat my Starbursts in this order, pink, orange, yellow, red.
I have a neck tattoo that I am not ashamed of.
I often think about the Zombie Apocalypse.
I googled the Liebster Blog and could not find the beginning source.
I'm up WAY too late tonight.
I believe I am going to hit a midlife crisis when I turn 30 next year.
I play have been playing The SIMS since it first came out.
I LOVE the smell of Irish Spring.
Ever since I started watching Hoarders, I have been afraid of becoming a hoarder, so now I basically only keep the necessities and have gotten rid of a ton of crap in my house.  Lol.
I dislike the show Private Practice, but continue to watch because I think I will miss something when they connect with Grey's Anatomy.
Ever since I started making teacher lesson plans, I am debating whether I like 1st or 2nd grade better and am unsure on which grade I want to teach when I am finally in a formal setting.

1. What or who inspired you to become a teacher?

I couldn't even tell you.  I can remember for as long as I can that I wanted to be a teacher.  I kind of "hate" my high school counselor for steering me in the completely wrong direction.  I'm a career changing teacher, and even though it is a late start, I'm still young and after my little ones are in pre-k, I can't wait to have my first "real" classroom.  But for now, my home classroom is working great.
2. If you couldn't be a teacher what would you do for a living?

Does this imply that I won the lottery and did not have to work?  Because if that is the case, I would travel my heart away.  But if that is not the case, then I would definitely be doing something small business like.  It's sort of my other thing.
3. What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Buying the new Christmas ornament.  It's a tradition I started with my little family.  I'll blog about it when we buy our new one this weekend.
4. Did you always want to be a teacher? If not, what else did you have in mind?

Yes, but like I said earlier, I was deterred by my high school counselor to go to film school.  Yes, I have talent in that department, made some great projects in my day, but apparently it wasn't for me after all.  I also dreamed of being a dancer, you know, in music videos.  Until I learned most of those girls are pretty raunchy, and that is really not for me.  Although I still would like to do a hip hop dance in a video, just one, so I can retire that dream out.
5. What is your favorite season? Why?

Summer, because growing up in Wisconsin it never lasted long enough, and I can not stand the cold.
6. Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what is it?

I guess you could say dancing.  I don't do it as often as I should anymore.  Ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop.
7. Has any particular book influence you or left a life-changing impact on you? Which one?

The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, really saved, improved, and continues to guide my marriage with my husband.
8. What is your favorite T.V. show?

Ooooohhh, this is a hard one.  Grey's Anatomy, no.....The Walking Dead.....Full House......Fresh Prince.....Ninja Warrior....too many to choose from.

9. Do you know the meaning of your name? If so, what is it?

Nerissa, Queen of the sea, or sea nymph.  Explains why fish are my favorite animals.
10. What is your biggest pet peeve?

People that chomp loudly on their food.  And can you believe I'm married to one of them. : /
11. What is it about a blog that makes you stop to read or follow it?

One that actually has stuff written in it and not a ton of ads all the way down the sides of the blog or in the header.  If I came to read your blog, I would like to just read that.  Also one that doesn't have too many pages.  To me, you have too many things you are writing about, just get a website already.

My 11 Questions For My Nominees:

(I know I am 2 blogs short, but apparently I like to roll with the big dogs and follow plenty of blogs with over 200 followers.  They were either under 200 or well over 1000.)

1.  Why did you start blogging?
2.  Candy or cakes?
3.  What is your all time favorite song?  (ONLY ONE)
4.  What kind of printer do you have and do you love it?
5.  What is your favorite time of day?
6.  Do you prefer to "stalk" other blogs, or do you actively comment on posts?
7.  What do you think is a more probable future, The Hunger Games or The Walking Dead?
8.  What is your favorite school subject?
9.  Do you have a large family?  (6+ siblings or kids?)  And if not, do you want one?
10.  Do you wear mixed matched socks. (Be honest.)
11.  What do you like to do one the weekends?

All you teachers, I hope you have been stacking up on your TPT products!  I stocked up on tons of clip art I had in my wish list today.  Probably going to hit up some more tomorrow.  Check it out.

  1. Nerissa, I didn't know you grew up in Wisconsin. Where at? I live in the small town of Rib Lake (North Central WI). I also LOVE The Walking Dead. However, my husband and I are so behind on this season. We're waiting for my brother-in-law to get us copies from his DVR. I am having withdrawls!!! I loved reading your answers to my questions. Thanks!
